Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer who will play a key role in driving the commercial success of our hydrogen fuel cell–based power solutions. This role is a balanced hybrid between technical expertise and customer-facing engagement, supporting both pre-sales and after-sales activities.
You will help customers understand our technology, design system-level solutions, support the sales cycle with technical insights, and ensure the successful deployment and operation of our products. The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with customers, understands technical systems, and is comfortable with both hands-on work and commercial communication.
This is a hybrid role that allows flexibility in work location; however, it requires regular international travel for customer visits, installations, events, and on-site technical activities. The working language is English.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Pre-Sales Support
- Review customer requirements, specifications, and application needs.
- Prepare technical offers, quotations, system designs, and solution descriptions.
- Participate in customer meetings and calls to explain technical aspects of PowerUP solutions.
- Produce technical presentations, diagrams, and other materials to support sales activities.
- Act as a reliable technical resource to the sales team, helping quickly finalize customer specific quotations as well as custom configurations and installation proposals.
Product & System Expertise
- Become a hands-on specialist in our hydrogen fuel cell based technology.
- Support engineering teams with feedback and insights from customer use cases and market demands.
- Help assess product functionality, system design and collaborate on engineering input when needed.
- Contribute to the creation, improvement, and maintenance of user manuals, technical guides, and other product documentation.
Customer Interaction & Field Activities
- Perform or supervise electrical installations of our products in cooperation with qualified professionals when required.
- Conduct customer and distributor trainings on product usage, maintenance, and best practices.
- Provide after-sales technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance.
- Visit customers and attend industry events, exhibitions, and site inspections.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Serve as a key bridge between sales, engineering, product, and marketing teams.
- Communicate market requirements and customer feedback to internal teams.
- Ensure all sales, product, and marketing materials are accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with marketing on lead-generation activities and content accuracy.
Sales Cycle Participation
- Actively support day-to-day sales activities in assigned markets in line with company sales strategy and KPIs.
- Manage customer and distributor relationships and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Provide regular reporting on activities, progress, and customer interactions
- Contribute to pricelist maintenance and ensure accurate quotation management within the MRP system.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Educational background in electrical engineering, mechatronics, system engineering (for example battery system engineering), aerospace engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience working in technical customer-facing roles (pre-sales, application engineering, field engineering, or similar).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to support installations and field activities.
- Strong organisational skills and reliability in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent self-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and follow through without close supervision.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian etc.) are a bonus.
- Proficiency with digital tools; experience with CRM systems is an advantage.
- Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis.
- Valid driver’s licence (car/B-category), required for customer visits and field activities.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset suitable for a fast-paced scale-up environment.
