Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop functional schematic diagrams (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams – P&IDs) for fuel cell/ electrolyser/ heat exchanger gas systems, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, industry standards, safety standards and operational needs.
- Conduct fluid flow analysis and thermal system optimization to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and performance under varying conditions.
- Select and size key components such as control valves, on/off valves, pressure valves, purge valves, heaters, filters, and sub-zero systems as well as gas pipes, adhering to performance criteria and safety requirements.
- Select and size suitable pressure regulators and pressure accumulators to make the fuel cell system work and to ensure sufficient gas flow in various operating conditions. The selected candidate should be experienced in reading the data sheets of components and sizing them accordingly.
- Use predictive modelling tools like Matlab/Simulink, OpenFoam and other simulation software to evaluate gas flow dynamics, pressure drops, heat exchange, and transient behaviour in the system.
- Lead the design of complete fuel cell gas systems by integrating components like valves, gas lines, pressure regulators, pressure relief valves, and accumulators which include component selection, sizing and integration.
- Participate in the building and testing of the designed fuel cell gas systems.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans to validate system performance, durability, and safety under various operating conditions.
- Conduct extensive gas system testing and analyze the test data to identify areas for improvement and implement design modifications to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve system-level issues that arise during testing of the gas system.
- Utilize your experience and knowledge by providing specialized insights and solutions to relevant projects.
